At least fourteen university students have been held in police custody İn Ankara since June 1 over their alleged links to Turkey’s Gulen group, accused by the Turkish governments of masterminding a coup attempt on July 15, 2016.
The group denies any involvement.
According to Turkish journalist, Sevinç Özarslan, the students are threatened by the police with extended detention time up to 14 days.
Some of the students are reportedly from the best departments of Turkey’s prestigious Middle East Technical University (ODTU)
