An indictment prepared by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office seeks a jail sentence of up to 15 years for prominent Turkish businessman Verdal Hosta as part of an ongoing investigation on the Gülen group, which the Turkish gov’t accuses of masterminding a coup attempt.

He was detained by the Turkish police in in January 2017 and has been kept in pre-trial detention ever since.

Hosta, the general manager of the Hosta Piknik restaurant chain is reportedly accused of membership in the organization. Hosta Piknik was established in 1991 in Ankara and has a total of 45 franchisers across Turkey, including İstanbul, Bursa and Konya.
