At least 16 people who work for Eskisehir Osmangazi University (ESOGÜ) were detained as part of an investigation into the Gülen movement, which the government accuses of masterminding the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, on May 9.

Detainees included ESOGÜ’s vice rector A.B. and A.K., the deputy chief physician at ESOGÜ’s medical faculty.

At least 120,000 people have been detained over alleged or real ties to the movement since July 15.
