Sixteen military officers were detained across nine provinces on Saturday over allegations of coup plotting.
As part of the operation, which was based in Nevşehir, police teams conducted raids in İstanbul, Bursa, Şanlıurfa, Kilis, Antalya, Samsun, Şırnak, Mersin and Ankara provinces and detained the officers.
Early on Saturday, detention warrants have been issued for 180 members of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).
Out of the 180 TSK personnel for whom detention warrants have been issued, 123 of them are from the Naval Forces Command.
Turkey experienced a military coup attempt on July 15 that killed over 240 people and wounded more than a thousand others. After the putsch, the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government along with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned the blame on the Gülen movement.
The movement denies any involvement.
