The people affiliated with the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) has been put in pre-trial detention on terror charges, the Cumhuriyet daily reported.

SGDF is known to be a youth branch of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP), which is a Marxist-Leninist political party that defines itself as “a revolutionary socialist party fighting for a workers’-labourers’ federative republic in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.”

Gizem Altınöz, Cem Eren Aslan and Sedat Polat were sent to prison on Friday in Ankara 16 over “membership in a terrorist organization and disseminating terrorist propaganda.”
