A total of 37 health workers, including doctors and nurses, were arrested late on Aug 15 in the southern province of Kahramanmaraş as part of an investigation into the coup attempt of July 15.

According to the several local media outlets, counter-terrorism police rounded up health workers working at Sütçü İmam University’s Medical Faculty Hospital. The suspects were brought to the police department for interrogation. A local court later on the same day ordered the arrest of the health workers.

The suspects’ home addresses were reportedly searched and computers and documents were seized.
