A 73-year-old dual citizen of Germany and Turkey has been held in solitary confinement in Istanbul’s Silivri prison as part of his pretrial detention over ties to the Gulen movement, according to German news agency DPA.

Enver Altayli, former member of the Turkish Intelligence Agency (MIT) a law professional who now runs a tourism facility in Antalya, was detained in August 20, 2017 and arrested six days after while no indictment has been filed since then, his daughter told DPA.

Altayli’s daughter said that so far, she avoided speaking up to the media about his father’s jailing due to would-be harm to Altayli’s situation.

She has called on German government to help them out while German officials are reportedly in contact with Turkish counterparts about the issue.
