The home of an Istanbul family with reported Alevi background was attacked with racist graffiti on its door that read: “Get out, atheist,” on Thursday night.
According to Mezopotamya news agency, the walls of the apartment was also marked with crosses and “three crescents,” the iconic logo of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
The unknown attackers also wrote “Islam” on the walls.
Mezopotamya said the family had earlier removed Islam from the religion section on their national identity cards.
The incident came only days after at least thirteen Alevi families in the Central Anatolian province of Malatya found their houses marked with red cross by unknown people.
