Turkey’s human rights organizations have said at least 404 people were subjected to torture or mistreatment in the country in 2020, the Kronos news portal reported.
According to a report released by Turkish Human Rights Foundation (TİHV), an organization is committed to treating torture survivors and documenting human rights violations, at least 10 abduction cases were reported across Turkey throughout the past year.
The report also said there are a total of 86 journalists in prisons across Turkey.
The TİHV was established in 1990. The foundation is known with its offices set up for the treatment of torture survivors in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Adana and Diyarbakir.[
