At least 803 people have been detained as part of an Ankara-based investigation into the Gulen movement, which the government accuses of masterminding the July 15 coup attempt, on Wednesday.

Detention warrants were issued for 1000 police officers in 53 provinces over their alleged or real ties to the movement, according to Turkish media. As many as 8,500 police officers were ordered to  carry out simultaneous raids in 81 provinces to detain their colleagues across the country.

Turkey has already detained more than 120,000 people over their links to the movement.
