A bus steward working for a local company in Adana province was detained on complaint after he put a scrap newspaper with a picture of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the paper, to dry a wet mat on the bus’ floor.

“Do not lay it on the floor. It has the picture of our President,” one of the passengers of the Yeni Adana Seyahat travel company told the bus assistant before his trip from Ankara to Adana started.

While the bus departed from Ankara after a quarrel, police stopped it near the Salt Lake, a touristic spot 225-km-away from the capital province.

The steward in question was taken into custody for interrogation as the bus hit the road again after a new assistant took over the shift.
