A Konya businessman, identified as M.T., was rounded up by police at Konya airport, on his way back from Romania on Friday.

According to state-run Anadolu news agency, M.T. has been under investigation for 13 months and an arrest warrant was earlier issued against him.

M.T. is accused of being one of the business sector representatives of the Gulen movement in Konya’s Seydisehir district.

Turkish government accuses the movement of masterminding the July 15, 2016 coup attempt while the latter denies involvement.

Anadolu said Konya police learnt that M.T. had booked a ticket for Turkey and that carried out an operation as soon as his plane landed at the airport in Konya. The court overseeing his case put M.T. into pre-trial arrest.

The government has already detained more than 120,000 people over their alleged links to the movement since last summer.
