Journo İbrahim Karayeğen has been missing since he was detained by Turkish police aftermath of the failed coup attempt on July 15, while Recep Demir, a Turkish teacher working at a private school in İstanbul, never returned home after he was detained on Aug 9.
Both Karayeğen’s and Demir’s families worry that their loved ones might be executed under detention.
Journalist Karayeğen was detained on July 16 in Manisa province while Demir was taken into custody in İstanbul’s Esenyurt district on Aug 9. No one has heard from them since.
Human rights organizations are putting efforts into pursuing the search of Külter. Several petitions on the issue were filed with the Ministry of Interior by the attorneys representing the families and civil rights groups. However, none of them were responded by the Ministry of Interior.
