Dismissed from his position as a civil servant at a state-run hospital, 48-year-old A.I.P. was sentenced to 6 years, 6 months and 22 days in prison.
Under arrest for 10 months over his alleged ties to the Gulen movement, A.I.P was given jail term on accusation of membership to a terrorist organization.
Turkish government accuses the movement of masterminding the July 15, 2016 coup attempt and describes the group as a terrorist organization. The movement denies charges.
However, the government detained more than 120,000 and jailed some 50,000 since last summer.
