Nalan Can, a Turkish judge who was fired from his job after a coup attempt in July 2016, was put in pre trial detention over her alleged links to Turkey’s Gülen group.

According to CNN Turk news portal, Can was caught by the Turkish police in Denizli and sent to prison by the country’s Supreme Court of Appeals.

The Turkish government accuses the Gülen group of masterminding a failed coup in 2016 and labels it a “terrorist organization,” although the movement denies involvement in the coup attempt or any terrorist activity.
