Ahmet Tevfik Uzun, a ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy between 2011 and 2015, was taken into custody as part of an investigation into the Gülen movement, early Monday.

Uzun was detained on charges of membership to the movement, which the government accuses of masterminding a coup attempt on July 15, 2016.

Nearly 120,000 people have been detained over alleged or real ties to the movement since last July.
