Fethullah Gülen’s cousin Kemalettin Gülen was put behind bars as part of an order by an Istanbul court on Saturday.

The cousin Gülen was given a 7.5 years of jail sentence on charges of membership to the Gulen movement and released with an overseas travel ban on March 8.

The state-run Anadolu news agency said the prosecutor overseeing the case objected to his release and he was re-detained a day after.

Anadolu said he was jailed to serve his sentence on Saturday.

Turkish government accuses the movement of masterminding the July 15, 2016 failed coup while the latter denies involvement. More than 150,000 people have been detained and some 60,000 of them were arrested so far. Among the arrestees are Gulen’s family members and close relatives.
