President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said during a public rally that if pro-Kurdish candidates “linked to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK),” are elected in the upcoming municipal elections, he will dismiss them and appoint civil servants to run the Kurdish towns in southern Turkey.

At a public rally in the central Anatolian town of Yozgat, Erdogan also accused the Republican People’s Party (CHP) and the Iyi, or Good Party, of “allying” with the PKK militants.

Turkey will hold local elections on March 31.
