Murat Turan, a 33-year-old imprisoned Turkish man, has been denied visitation to his 11 year old son with advanced heart failure, according to pro-Kurdish HDP deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu.
Posting a series of tweets regarding the incident, Gergerlioğlu said even though Turan’s son, Ömer Faruk Turan nears the end of his life, he was denied by two different prosecutors a permission to visit his son at the hospital.
The purge-victim man reportedly stays at the Manisa State prison over alleged links to the Gulen group, which the government accuses of masterminding a coup attempt in 2016. The group denies any involvement.
“Two different prosecutors have denied Murat Turan the right to see his son one last time,” Gergerlioğlu tweeted.
