Sıddık Güler, a Kurdish man who has been held in a prison in Turkey since 1994, is being denied release by Turkish courts despite severe cardiac disease, according to the Jiyan Haber news portal.
Güler was reportedly jailed in 1994 on terror charges and had stayed in nine different prisons across Turkey since then. He is currently staying in a prison in Turkey’s İskenderun province. Güler had reportedly coronary angiograma two times in the past year and suffers from hypertension and rheumatism.
Mehtap Sert, a lawyer representing Güler, told the news portal that she is worried that her client may die in prison due to deteriorating health condition.
