Arat Barış, a journalist from the Gazete Davul news portal, took to Twitter on Sunday to raise awareness of what İlhan Çomak, a Kurdish man who has been held in prison since 1994, and his family have had to go through and demand action.
“I’m İlhan Çomak. I was arrested in 1994.I have had spent 27 years in prison without a single concrete evidence. Along with my loved ones, I have been buried into darkness. Everybody should tell the others about this injustice,” Barış tweeted.
İlhan Sami Çomak is a Kurdish poet from Turkey’s Bingöl Province. He has been held in prison since 1994 on charges of membership of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). In prison, Çomak has published eight books.
