A total of 10 women in Manisa’s Kula district were detained for their ties to associations linked with the Gülen movement, on Tuesday.

The women, either former personnel or members of the government-closed associations in Kula, were taken into custody as part of an investigation into the movement, which the government accuses of masterminding the July 15, 2016 coup attempt.

The movement denies involvement in the abortive takeover.

However, more than 120,000 people have been taken under custody, of which over 56,000 have been put in pretrial detention over Gülen links so far.
