The outspoken Republican Peoples’ Party’s (CHP) deputy Mahmut Tanal said on Friday that his car was attacked by unknown people in a mafia-like operation.
In a series of tweets Tanal said the rear window of his car was smashed by whom he guessed at first thieves. However, he later added: “Nothing was touched inside. They did not aim robbery; it is a mafia-like move aimed at warning instead.”
Stating that he parked the car just in front of his house at midnight, the day after which he found the rear window broken.
Tanal later told media that he has been getting insulted on Twitter since Aug 30. “It cannot just be a coincidence that my car was attacked at a time when streetlights were out,” he added.
