Turkish journalist Sevinc Ozarslan accused the Turkish police of inflicting torture on a number of detainees by applying ice cubes on their genitals for an extended period of time.

“We know about ice torture at Ankara police headquarters. Those who are involved will eventually stand trial before international courts,” Ozarslan tweeted.

She has not revealed her source in the tweet.

Similar rape and torture allegations against former Turkish diplomats were documented by Ankara Bar Association in 2019. Strip search and battery is a common occurrence in Turkey prisons.
