Rabia Akgün, a 4-month pregnant woman, was put in pre-trial detention on Wednesday on terror charges after spending five days in police custody in Turkey’s Diyarbakır province, the Kronos news portal reported.

According to the portal, Akgün and her husband Mehmet Emin Akgün were detained by police on August 9 during a police raid on their house in the Diyarbakır porvince. The couple was sent to prison five days later for having links to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is considered by Turkey a terrorist organization.

The letters that Akgün sent to her brother, who is also in prison on similar charges, were considered an evidence by the court for Akgün’s alleged membership tin the terrorist organization, according to the pro-Kurdish Jiyan haber.
