Peoples’ Democracy Party (HDP) lawmaker Pervin Buldan was taken to hospital after she was kicked in chest by the ruling Justice and Development Party deputy Gökçen Özdoğan Enç, during a brawl at the Parliament on Thursday.

Tension was escalated at Turkish parliament as an independent deputy Aylin handcuffed herself to the lectern after her request to address fellow lawmakers was rejected during constitutional amendment package debates.

When Buldan and other HDP deputies stood by Nazlıkaya in solidarity, Enç went up the stairs behind and kicked Buldan in the chest, according to HDP deputy chair Filiz Kerestecioğlu.

The constitutional amendment package is aimed at expanding the president’s power significantly and bringing an executive presidential system to the country.
