Pro-Kurdish politician Esma Yılmaz has been denied release from pre-trial detention even though her 1-year-old daughter, kept in prison along with the mother, needs 6-month treatment at a hospital for her Asthma problem.
Arrested over terror charges in Dec 2017, Yılmaz has been in pre-trial detention since then and her baby stays with him to be breastfed at the early ages.
A request by Yılmaz to be released over the baby’s medical conditions has been recently turned down by a court in the eastern province of Mardin, the politician’s husband Mihdi Yılmaz told media on July 9.
“My wife wants us to get the child out alone for treatment but she still needs breastmilk. How do we proceed without her mother?” Mr Yilmaz said.
