Emine Cetik and Aykut Kutlu, a soon-to-be-married couple who was detained over links to the Gulen movement in bridal car the other day, was put in pre-trial arrest.

Set to be officially married in just hours, the couple was stopped by police in a bridal car and detained over links to the movement while they were on their way to the wedding venue in Usak on July 9.

An Usak overseeing the case arrested both Cetik and Kutlu on accusation of membership and helping to a terrorist organization.

Turkish government accuses the movement of masterminding the July 15, 2016 coup attempt while the latter denies involvement.

More than 130,000 people have lost their jobs while over 120,000 including elderly individuals, pregnant women, children and many from all walks of life have been detained over links to the group since last summer.
