Three Turkish YouTubers known for conducting street interviews with passersby on daily political developments, have been placed in house arrest for  “inciting hatred and animosity against some groups” and publicly “denigrating the state and government.”

Mehmet Koyuncu (@KendineMuhabir)Arif Kocabıyık (@ilavetv_) and Turan Kural (@sadevatandasyt) were arrested by police in dawn raids on Sunday.

According to the Stockholm Center for Freedom’s “Jailed and Wanted Journalists in Turkey” database, 174 journalists are behind bars in Turkey and 167 are wanted and either in exile or at large.
