Three out of 6 Turkish journalists who have been kept under police custody for the past 24 days, were arrested over terrorism charges on Tuesday.

Police teams detained the six journalists — DİHA news manager Ömer Çelik, one of the editors of the Diken news portal, Tunca Öğreten, the Birgün daily’s accounting supervisor Mahir Kanaat, DİHA reporter Metin Yoksu, the Etkin News Agency’s Derya Okatan and the Yolculuk daily’s Eray Sargın — during simultaneous raids in İstanbul and Diyarbakır on since Dec. 25.

Öğreten, Çelik and Kanaat were arrested on accusation of membership to a terrorist organization while the remaining journalists, who were accused of terrorist propaganda were released on probation.
