An Ankara prosecutor has issued detention warrants for a total of 33 military cadets and seven ex-military officers over alleged links to Turkey’s Gulen group, which the Turkish government accuses of masterminding a coup attempt in 2016.

The group denies any involvement.

The Sözcü daily reported that following the warrants  Turkish police has launched simultaneous operations in 13 provinces in an attempt to detain the targeted army members and cadets.
