Pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Meral Danış Beştaş was arrested by an Adana court on Monday as part of a terror investigation targeting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Beştaş was detained in Adana on Jan. 28 on charges of alleged links to a terrorist organization. She was released pending trial early on Jan. 30; however, she was re-detained later the same day.

Following a police interrogation and testimony to a prosecutor, Beştaş was arrested and later sent to an Adana prison.
