Thirty-seven Interior Ministry personnel were suspended from their positions over their alleged tie to the Gülen movement, which the government accuses of masterminding the July 15 coup attempt, on Tuesday.

The latest suspensions added to the already high number of civil service workers who have been either sacked or suspended due to Gülen links.

Turkey has detained 43,000 people and arrested 24,000 since the coup attempt while more than 100,000 have been either sacked or suspended from state positions.
