A Turkish court on Thursday arrested the deputy co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Seydi Fırat along with seven other Kurdish politicians on charges of serving as executives of a terrorist organization.

Fırat, Mehmet Baysal, Cebbar Leygara, Edip Yaşar, Cafer Kan, Abdulbaki Karadeniz, Ramazan Özbek and Halis Bilen were arrested as part of an investigation pursued by the Diyarbakır republican prosecutor into the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), .
