A Turkish court has ruled to release Huriye Acun, a 32-year-old purge-victim woman, after two weeks in prison on charges of having links to Turkey’s Gulen group, accused by the government of masterminding a coup attempt.

The group denies any involvement.

She is 28 weeks pregnant.

According to the Turkish media, Acun was sentenced to 9 years and 4 months in prison in 2017 by a Kastamonu court and then was released on prohibition. She was reportedly re-arrested yesterday and sent to Konya E Type Closed prison to serve the remainder of her prison sentence.

She was charged with using ByLock, once widely available online and considered by the government to be a tool of secret communication among supporters of the movement since a failed coup attempt in 2016.
