2Turkish authorities have detained 12 relatives of Cevdet Türkyolu, an aide to the Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, and will keep them as hostages until Türkyolu surrenders to police, according to Turkish media.

Police teams raided the Türkoğlu’s house in Sakarya province early on Aug 21 with the aim of detaining Gülen’s friend of many years.  Upon their failure to find Türkoğlu, officers reportedly detained 12 members of his family: Muharrem T., Ümmiye I. Vildan E., Muhammet V., Necdet T., Faruk T., Abdullah Mesut I., Güler T., Kemal E., Yunus Şahin I., Nurullah Sait I. and Mert Muaz I.
