Turkish psychiatrist Emine Ozdemir said she was taken under investigation on charge of membership to a terrorist organization and that the prosecutor’s evidence include her professional counselling as well.
I was told yesterday that a legal case was opened against me. The accusation is being a terrorist organization by providing psychological support to those dismissed under post-coup emergency decrees; having an account at Bank Asya; and spending my vacation at Kizilcahamam,” Ozdemir tweeted Sunday.
The psychiatrist also said she was reported to police by an unknown informant last year and that the case was launched just now.
Turkish government accuses Gulenists of masterminding the July 15, 2016 failed coup while the latter denies involvement.
More than 150,000 people were dismissed from their jobs over alleged terrorism ties as part of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s post-coup crackdown while 510,000 people were detained since the summer of 2016.
Bank Asya and Kizilcahamam hotel were earlier confiscated over Gulen links.
