Turkish prosecutors have launched an investigation into Turkish singer Erhan Güleryüz after he criticising the Friday sermon delivered across Turkey’s mosques during his concert, opposition newspaper Sözcü reported on Saturday.

Mr. Güleryüz was reportedly summoned by police hours after his concert in the country’s northwestern province of Kırklareli  over his criticism that a recent Friday sermon failed to acknowledge the founder of the Turkish republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

After an interrogation, the singer was let go without a detention, Sözcü said.
