Turkey’s Education Ministry, in cooperation with the Language and Literature Association and the Turkish Language Council (TDK), is promising a top prize of joining President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during one of his overseas trips to the winner of a poetry and story writing competition on Turkey’s coup history.
The competition is open for all high school students across the country.
The winner will get TL 15,000 and have a chance to accompany Erdoğan during a foreign trip.
The prize-giving ceremony is reported to be held at the lavish presidential palace in July, 2017.
Turkey experienced a military coup attempt on July 15 that killed over 240 people and wounded more than a thousand others. Immediately after the putsch, the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government along with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned the blame on the Gülen movement.
