Newly emerged video footage shows the moment a Turkish police use real bullets to disperse people who have taken to the streets in Şişli district of İstanbul to protest the arrest of Kurdish politicians.

The 18-second video, viewed hundreds of times on YouTube and Twitter, a group of police officers use excessive force against Kurdish demonstrators, trying to disperse them with water cannons, tear gas and plastic bullets.

After several HDP deputies were rounded up in the early hours of Friday, nine Kurdish lawmakers including the two co-chairs of the party were arrested on Friday afternoon.
