Yiğit Kaçar, a former judge who has been fired from his job with a government decree issued after a coup attempt in 2016, has been detained over his social media posts in critical of the Turkish government.

According to a tweet posted by his wife, Esra Kaçar, he is currently under police custody in Çanakkale province.

Mr. Kaçar was dismissed from his job after a coup attempt on July 15, 2016, and later put in pre-trial detention over alleged membership in a terrorist organization. He was released pending trial in early 2018 after spending almost 16 monhts in prison.
