Wives of 13 former police officers who were earlier dismissed from their jobs over alleged ties to the Gulen movement were detained Thursday.

State-run Anadolu news agency said police carried out operations in 9 provinces and detained 13 women as part of an investigation into the movement’s women’s network.

The suspects are accused of having attended religious gatherings organized by the movement members.

Turkish government blames the Gulen movement for the 2016’s failed coup while the latter denies involvement.
