A Syrian woman, named Reyhan Abdi, was sent to prison on August 30 over alleged links to a “terrorist organization,” the Bold news portal reported.
Abdi was reportedly detained by İstanbul police early on August 26. After spending some three days in police custody, she was arrested by a court and placed in pre-trial detention.
While she is accused of having links to so-called “terrorist organizations,” no further detail is known about the woman’s case.
She reportedly moved to İstanbul from Syria some six years ago due to the ongoing civil war in the country.
