Kadri Sancar, a Hepatitis B patient, has been denied release despite having suffered advanced periodontal disease in prison.
According to Mehmet Ali Aslan, a former pro-Kurdish deputy, Sancar is on the brink of suicide as he can’t eat and sleep due to an advanced periodontal disease, a set of inflammatory conditions affecting the tissues surrounding the teeth. He has been denied access to medication.
The claim has neither been confirmed nor denied by the Turkish authorities.
