A video footage, claimed to be captured in Turkey’s western province of Izmir, reportedly shows that the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) supporters physically attacked naysayers on the night of the crucial referendum on Apr 16.

Citizens of Turkey cast their votes on Sunday in a historic referendum on whether to switch the system of governance to an executive presidency amid reports of alleged voter fraud across the country. According to the state-run Anadolu news agency “Yes” front won with a slim 51.23 percent majority.

While groups of No supporters in mostly metropolitan areas took the streets after the results, scuffles were reported to have taken place as well as physical attacks on some occasions.

Below is a video many social media users said were recorded in Izmir’s Bornova district where a No voter reportedly failed to escape from a group of government supporters and got attacked.
